Dr. Alvarez offers clinical services for families, women, and post-divorce challenges. Dr. Alvarez offers forensic services for high conflict parenting, divorcing family challenges, cases of parental alienation, psychological evaluations, and consultations either TO attorneys or parents involved in high conflict family law matters.
Dr. Alvarez offers both in-person and virtual appointments. Many high conflict parenting matters are conducted virtually to allow for a more comfortable encounter. Most family therapy work involving children needs to be conducted in the office setting. Psychological evaluations can be conducted with a combination of virtual and in-person appointments.
Please complete the “Request an Appointment” form located at the bottom of the Home Page and Dr. Alvarez will reply to you.
Whether a clinical client or a forensic client, Dr. Alvarez uses the first appointment to very carefully understand the relevant historical information so that she can propose a path forward to you. For family law matters, Dr. Alvarez often requests documents, reports, or other information from you in order to better understand your legal case and the relevant history.
For clinical clients, one-hour appointments work well. For clients involved in a family law matter, the first appointment with Dr. Alvarez is two hours to allow sufficient time to understand the relevant historical information. The majority of all additional appointments are one hour for family law clients.
For most clinical clients, the frequency of appointments at the beginning of treatment is weekly. However, there is always individuation depending on your needs. For forensic clients, most parenting work is done in a weekly or every other week format. For any client, as progress is achieved, appointment frequency lessens, but the client’s needs are always considered and adjustments can always be made at any point in the process.
All information is confidential for clinical clients and only your authorization allows Dr. Alvarez to release your information or speak to another person about you.
